Isn’t it appalling that in the midst of the biggest financial crisis since the 1930’s our government is wasting £ billions on unnecessary projects?
Join with Our World Our Say to stop the government wasting our money, and to call them to account and demand they focus on the real priorities. Here are a few examples of their wastage:
- - Whitehall has wasted £2billion on abandoned IT projects. Abandoned. Never implemented. Just written off.
- - According to recently released figures the Government is spending £7 billion a year on consultants to government departments
- - The Financial Services Authority is granting itself bonuses – after spectacularly failing to regulate the banks
Even now, in the midst of economic crisis, our government is throwing away £ billions of our money – yours and mine – on projects that do nothing for you and me, but do everything to deepen establishment intrusion into our daily lives. They include:
- - An ID card scheme that even ministers have admitted can't stop terrorism – and they’re desperate to hide the cost - also see the Our World Our Say ID Card Free Zone pages
- - A surveillance system to keep track of every car journey you make
- - Plans to keep track all of our trips abroad - including automatically reporting on childrens movements outside of term time
- - The fingerprinting of children in schools
All over Britain, hardworking men and women have lost jobs and homes, watched their savings disappear and been forced to turn to state handouts and charity for help. Meanwhile the government continue to throw away billions.
