Join the Virtual Lobby for a withdrawal from Afghanistan
“The Western media talks about democracy and the liberation of Afghanistan, but the US and its allies are engaged in the warlordization, criminalization and drug-lordization of our wounded land.” - Malalai Joya, member of the Afghan Parliament

Dear John Hutton,
I call upon the British Government to:
1. Organise an immediate, properly staged and resourced British troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.
2. Disengage itself from US foreign policy and to begin on the long road back to peaceful international co-operation by adhering to international law and healing the wounds of our foreign policy misadventures.
For the population of Afghanistan, who are facing greatly increased acts of terror and murder, this is a disaster of enormous proportions. And every day longer our troops remain in Afghanistan, lives are being lost in order to maintain support for US foreign policy. Our continued military presence only serves to destabilise both countries.
In the face of this we can no longer justify our ongoing presence in these countries.
